Introducing AVA: Cydar’s new aortic Automatic Volume Assessment tool

Volume measurement is emerging as a valuable metric to assess aortic disease treatment success. However, manual measurement is time-intensive and there is no established calculation standard. Cydar Medical is introducing the solution: Automatic Volume Assessment (AVA).

This tool is a powerful feature added to our end-to-end platform. AVA enables fast automated volume estimates on post-operative CT scans and displays trends over time. Combined with other metrics, clinicians can easily assess how the patient is progressing and make informed decisions regarding the potential for adverse events and the timing of any reinterventions if necessary.

What is AVA (Automatic Volume Assessment)?

Automatic Volume Assessment estimates aortic volume from any CT scan – without manual intervention. By leveraging AI algorithms, we provide critical insights into potential changes in aortic volume over time. This is particularly valuable for assessing the success of endovascular aneurysm repair procedures, offering an automated, consistent, streamlined and efficient approach for tracking disease progression.
 
The goal is to aid clinicians to make more informed decisions.

How does it work?

AVA is a feature available in the Cydar Maps platform and seamlessly automates the key steps required for aortic volume analysis after surgery.
 
AVA performs volume calculations by using machine learning to assess the infra-renal aortic region. The results are displayed in the AVA interface, which tracks estimated volume changes over time.

The graphical representation offers a clear view of trends and enables clinicians to monitor disease progression. With AI-driven assessments, AVA ensures fast, consistent and reproducible results, minimizing the variability often found in manual measurements and offering a more reliable tool for clinicians.
